EMAIL CAMPAIGN for SYLVAN RODRIGUEZ PARK
1201 CLEAR LAKE CITY BLVD
City of Houston Residents can help by making phone calls, writing emails, and letters and encouraging your friends and neighbors, especially if they are
also City of Houston Residents to do the same to
Mayor Annise Parker and all members of Houston City Council
asking to set aside at least 10% of the current budget for a 10 - 15 Acre Dog Park to be located in Clear Lake at the 111 Acre Sylvan Rodriguez City Park; 1201 Clear Lake City Blvd.
Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Funds for 2011 of one (1) Million Dollars that have already been set aside for the next phase of improvements for the Sylvan Rodriguez Park
(starting July 2010). The size for a dog park of 10 - 15 Acres was identified by a Houston Parks Building Services Department White Paper written in 2004. A "Sample Letter" and the "Proposed Dog Park Sites White Paper" are on our web site at Files.
However, when you look at the "Sylvan Rodriguez Park Master Plan," you will see they are planning for only a 3 acre dog park, not until Phase 2, no earlier than 2013, if money is available. When asking for a Dog Park, please state you wish a Dog Park on the North side of Clear Lake Community at the
111 Acre Sylvan Rodriguez City Park. We need more than one Dog Park in our Community with so many residents and households having dogs.
